Heaven

My Favorite Favourite Favourite Song of All Times!!! Click Here and view the images at the same time.

When you are in love, you are in heaven. You forget all unhappy things. There’s no way anyone or anything can take that feeling away. Oh… how deeply I still love my wife after more than 12 years of marriage. Thank You, Lord!

Urban Landscapes, Kuala Lumpur – Part 1

The following is a series of shots from one of my personal project titled “Urban Landscape”. Shots were all done entirely on one quiet Sunday morning. I hope to publish the whole series one day. This series is meant to show our often familiar surroundings in a different light – quiet, serene, yet empty. Do feel free to drop your personal interpretation in the comments column!

Wedding in 16:9 Wide Format by Olympus E-P1

Recently, I really enjoyed photographing a wedding and just couldn’t help posting it here. This is the first time I shot with my Olympus E-P1 with kit lens and entirely on 16:9 format, similar to your wide-screen Plasma/LCD TV, and adding short and exciting HD video clips of the games and church ceremony(not posted here).

It was truly exciting to have completed a slideshow with HD video clips in it on the day itself! It was fun! I shall be writing more about the Olympus E-P1 later, so stay tuned.

To my Bintulu Friends and my assistant Louis, many many heartfelt thanks deep from my heart to you all!

Bukit Tinggi Malaysia – 12 Jul 2009

A passing moment of clouds travelling past. This happened just for a few seconds before the light is all flat.

Shot of the day – 12 Jul 2009, with my new toy (all my buddies know what it is). Good photographs depend on great imagination NOT gear. (Though the Olympus E-P1 grainy film art filter really helps this time… haha…) The best camera is the one in your hands.  Let’s all focus on expressing our IMAGINATION!

Michelle & Aravind – Kampar Wedding Part 2

Michelle & Aravind, Kampar Wedding – Preparation

PART 1: (the rest will follow soon…) Enjoy…

Pavilion Times has no space for these…

These are the gallery prints I could have put up during the previous joint-exhibition held by “hiplist” magazine at Times Bookstore-Pavilion KL. Only two of the following were exhibited, printed for the first time on HP Canvas. Well, I’m still perfecting my printing skills, but I must say, though the canvas were impressive, I still prefer Epson printers for it’s tonality, gamut and details.

The above are the 2 canvas I exhibited at Pavilion Times Bookstore. The one that attracted most attention is exhibit-1. I truly enjoyed the workshop I conducted there on a Sunday and enjoyed making new friends through the workshop like Andy from Penang, Joo, Juliana, etc. Keep your photography passion growing, guys! And not to forget, a “Big Thank You” to the 1 Avenue bunch who came to support me.

Blur is Beautiful

The following are some images from Michelle & Aravind’s wedding recently, a beautiful Indian wedding. Life is not always at F16 sharp all the time. We dream, our imaginations run, we all have a child in us who love to daydream and linger in our own little world at times… and my best time is when I’m on my potty.. ha ha :)

Welcome to My Blog

photographed by Johan Khoo

I am a Singaporean photographer based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia since 2003. I shuffle between Singapore and Malaysia frequently.

I am primarily a portrait and street photographer. I love images which are spontaneous, real and impossible/difficult to be re-captured.

To me, photography is an emotional process.
