About
David, a Singaporean, is married to a Malaysian since the 90’s. The couple has been living in Singapore until they moved to Malaysia in year 2002. As formal flight attendants for Singapore Airlines since 1996, they have both travelled the world to more than 40 destinations. After having enjoyed photographing around the world as a hobby, it was in the year 2000 when David decided to turn his passion into a career.
David started photography as a hobby during teenage, and was subsequently trained in Fine Art Photography by Fred Kuan in Singapore in the early 90s. In Fine Art Photography, he was meticulously trained in zone system, traditional darkroom printing and all technical film fundamentals which act as a strong foundation for his career today. All the training explains why he holds strictly to the idea that a true artist in photography should have complete control from pressing the trigger to printing the final print.
Today, David works on his images from pre-visualizing each scene before he shoots, to working on his images behind his desktop or processing his own films, and to printing his final prints in his own digital and traditional darkroom. He uses all kinds of cameras from the simplest compact film cameras to view cameras and to digital cameras.
To get to know david, the best thing to do is to meet him and have a good chat. He loves to meet people and he always believe in making every client a friend.
